I have an intel D815EPEA2 mb w/ a P3 running @ 1.3 ghz. Motherbaord maxes out @ 512mb. Been running two pc133/ 256 modules w/ no problem.
I took the 2 modules out and put a new pc133/ 512mb module in and now my comp. beeps 3 times and won't start. I know memory module is problem. I put it in the 0 bank dimm slot.
Could it be that it won't accept one module of that size?
Please help.

I have had a look at the design specs for this mb, and it looks like it does take 512mb as a single module check out this URL that you might be intrested in. http://www.samintl.com/mem/n10558.htm
It reccomends using the kingston KVR133X64C3 512MB module.
You might want to purchase yourself 1 of these and if it does work return the orrigional back to manufacture as faulty.

I am wondering why you took out the two 256 and replaced with one 512 since you still have the same amount of ram, and apparently that is what you are rated for. As long as the 256 worked, I would put them back in, since you are not gaining anything by using the 512. Also have you pushed down hard on the 512 to make sure it is properly seated. Sometimes it looks like they are when they actually are not. Donna
