I have a 40GB hard drive (C:) and an 80GB (D:) drive. I need to reformat my C drive and would like to partition it at the same time. How do I re-assign my D drive to be something else, so my C drive can become C & D. I use Windows ME.
Thanks

If your going to reinstall windows totally then you can use Fdisk, using a windows boot disk. Go here:
http://fdisk.radified.com/
Although its a little overcomplicated, but the site is reliable, and free.

But i'd thoroughly recomended buying Partition Magic, version 8 is the latest to do it properly. I know its a little expensive, but its the easiest, most reliable way to do it. It really is a sound investment, and offers total control over partitioning, in an easy interface. Its a really powerful program, and unlike Fdisk, you dont have to reinstall windows everytime you want to partition. Ive used Partition Magic for a few years, and never had a problem.

Hope this helps.
