Plz help..
I reformated my laptop and now when I try to connect it says make sure my modem is connected..What can I do..

If you loaded you hard drive with the factory reload disks, then the modem is most likey in need of replacement. If you used you own version of the OS, then use another computer and download the correct drivers for your modem.
Check your device manager and check for modem listings.

Thanks for help John on modem
I checked my device manager but the hamr 5600 voice modem is not listed..I tried to copy the driver to a floppy but it says not enough room on the disk..Oh well guess I am not just a newbie but also a dummie...Thanks for your help

Download the file on to the computer you are now using. Once you get it downloaded, then download a file splitting utility. I suggest HJSplit

Once you have it downloaded and installed, then use it to split the file you downloaded for the modem into small enough pieces to fit a floppy and copy them to the other computer. You will also need to put the splitting program on the other computer so put it on a floppy too. Once it is installed and all the pieces are on that computer, click it to put them all back together, and then install your modem. Donna
