Type in: format c: and press the 'enter' key.
You need to boot the computer into Dos mode to do this. Opening the Dos window while in windows
will not let you format the hard drive while it is in use, and you will get error messages.

You would be best advised to boot from your bootup floppy before doing a reformat.
If you don't boot from floppy first you don't know for sure that you will be able to install Windows again.
1) Boot from floppy. This will guarantee you have a bootable floppy and that it works.
2) Do a directory on your CDROM drive. This will guarantee that your CDROM drive will read from dos (not windows) and it makes sure you know enough to find your CDROM drive and do a directory on your CDROM. If you can't find your CDROM drive in dos you have no business reformating. And if you can't find the CDROM you won't be able to start the windows setup.
