Error 29, win ME and explorer (please help)

I cant use IE properly right now because i keep getting script errors and "error 29". Ive narrowed the problem to IE 6 and the fact that it doesnt install properly on my pc ( i hate ME).
the way i can probably fix this is to remove IE 6 and go back to 5. the problem is, is that because of the error i cant open the add/remove program page without it closing. is there another way to open the add/remove programs page so that i can use it?
any help.
