How do I load chipset drivers can it screwup my PC

I have two PCs, one has an Abit BH6 and the other has an Abit KT7A motherboard and both are on Win 98SE.
The BH6 has an Ati Rage graphics card, the KT7A has a Geforce 2MX.

I have run a little program called WPCUID that shows the status of various things on the PC.

I found on both PCs that under chipset status the AGP was shown to be disabled.

I have been told that the chipset drivers have not been loaded on either PC, is it possible the PCs could still work???

Both PCs were built professionally and seem to run ok though on some graphics programs they are slow to refresh some pictures.

I have the Abit CDs for both motherboards which presumably contain the chipset drivers. Or I could download the latest from the Abit site.

What worries me is that I might screw up the computer by trying to load these drivers.

I can’t find anything in the Bios to show that the AGP is disabled.
