reinstalled windows 98

I had to reinstall windows 98 and now it shows my color option and screen size only 16 bit, before it was 256.
Please what can I do to get it back to the original

First did you install the most recent drivers for your videdo card, if not you will need to do so.
After updating drivers,go through the control panel, click on display, then click on the settings tab for color settings as well as screen area size.
