i bought a new pc. amd2000+ MSI 6712, power supply 350W, installed winXP and after a while it started crashing and freezing without any reason, i went back to the company and they put 2 extra fens.
Now my cpu temp (according to pcalert) is 60C in idle and get's heighr...
i turned on CoolerXp (you know how it works?) and now the idle temp is ~55C. what should it be?
the system temp is 38C. the cpu fan shows 5443 rpm, the vcore is 1.66.
is that good? i've read that the cpu shouldn't exceed 55 at highest...
please help...
I don't know what to do...
thanks alot! :(

well here it is..i have a higher (performance related) setup than you do...running 55C at IDLE is fairly good/healthy for the cpu..coolerxp is a very simple program that is issuing a halt command to the cpu (via chipset's feature) thus causing the cpu temperature to go down without affecting the fsb/voltage/multiplier...the processor i'm running is a lot faster than yours, and im iddling at 50C and 55C at the full load...after playing a DVD, being online and playing quake3 (ultimate performance tester) for about 3 hours...although, i am not using a stock heatsink...i would recommand using Zalman's heatsink and a high rpm fan (zalmans package comes with a 2800rpm fan)..setting a 90-100mm fan over the zalman cpu heatsink cools boot the system chip and the cpu as well..just get a better fan than the one that comes in the zalman package and with your processor (without running coolerxp) you should be getting iddle temp.'s at no more higher than 45C

Have you updated the motherboard bios?
MSI are known to report wrong CPU temp in some of the earlier bios. Just check the website, for any bios update first, and read the MSI forum (on the Msi website) which is excellent for working out problems and expected results with MSI Motherboards, its likely your not the only one suffering with this.
Hope this helps!
