Hi,

I have the following problem - my computer does not turn off when I do shutdown. It freezes when dispaying the message "it is safe to turn off your computer".

The problem started when I installed w2000. Having w98 the computer was turning off atomatically.

specs:

motherboard: shuttle HOT-681
Celeron 400
Riva tnt

Nike

Which might be so if you're computer does not comply with the new way of shutting down a computer. If it says 'Standard PC' in the mamanagement console you'll have to turn off you're pc manually (being able to turn off automatically in windows 98 has little to do with it).

Catch up on APM and ACPI compatibility: http://is-it-true.org/nt/nt2000/atips/atips42.shtml

Turning on the APM helped only partially. My comp turns off - that true, but... it does not want to start-up from hibernate. I.e. it starts loading and its stops on the edn and nothing
