Computer freezes when try to load some pages

My computer freezes instantly when I try to load some web sites/pages. Most of them work fine but when I try to visit sites such as www.launch.com or www.ign.com, it freezes right there without even fully loading the page. I think I have something thats freezing me whenever I try to use pages that use Java. Please help.

How much RAM do you have? If you have only 32 or 64 MB of RAM, you should be doubling your RAM, or to the maximum allowed for the particular brand of computer you have (e.g. some older Presario notebooks can only be upgraded to 128 MB of RAM. Call your local Office Depot, Office Max or Staples, and tell them what kind of computer you have; they can tell you what RAM upgrade cards are available for your computer, how much money, and actually do the installation, which is really very easy. If you use the Web alot, this will be worth it.

if java is indeed your problem go to sun microsystem's website and download the original java that IE doesn't have anymore.
