I think I have an email virus in my comcast mail. (Microsoft Express can import my messages from it but I never use it) Strange symbols are in place of the words in my "move messages to" drop down menu and all of the folder names therein. These symbols also jump from folder to folder (inbox, read mail, folders, etc.) sometimes the "move messages to" drop down menu looks normal in one folder but not another. Additionally, if I have a particular message checked and then click on it to read, I'm prompted that the message no longer exists. Also, if I try to reply to an email the strange symbols take place of the address in the "To" field. This ir regardless of whether or not the little symbols are in the "move messages to" drop down menu What is it and how do I fix it?

Have you run a virus detection program? It would confirm your suspicion.
If not, an excellent antivirus program can be found at www.grisoft.com; it is called AVG 6.0 and it used to be free (maybe still is). You can download it, then you will have to wait for an email to get your installation code. Then you install the program, and you will have to run a virus definition update to get the latest virus definitions. After that is all done (this will surely take awhile if you use a 56k modem), maybe a nite or two. One nite to download and wait for the email, the next nite to update the definitions and do the actual virus scan. If AVG finds a virus, it will notify you and give you choices (usually the program puts the virus in a vault, to be deleted at a later time).
See if this solves your problem, then let me know. I might have some other ideas to share with you if this does not 'fix' your problem.
