Need to download Java where should I go?

How I did it I don't know.. :)..I deleted part of the Java application that somehow was on my computer. It said damaged... So I went and downloaded Java 2 something... But I'm still having trouble. Where can I go to download Java? I have windows 98 & AOL...

first go to microsoft update and update theier java then to sun technologies and download their latest version viola
