i cannot change my desktop settings im stuck with 16 colours and 640 by 480 pixels i try to change it but it wont let me it restarts the exact same,also i get the message ptsnoop has preformed an illegal operation and rundll32 shuts down as well on every restart.any ideas on whats goin on?

if youve been messing with msconfig reverse what u did.
if not click start/run/sfc
run system file checker and it will tell u of any currupt/deleted files to restore from disc.
If problem persists remove drivers for video card if you have the drivers cd and restart.

If you have a program called PTSnoop that's running automatically when you start the computer, you have bigger problems then just video drivers. That sounds like spyware or a trojan horse.
