I ran Diagnotics on my laptop and it failed for IDE disk #0 (PM) and IDE disk IDE. What's the meaning of those failures? How can I fix it by myself? What part should I replace? Please help. I don't know much about troubleshooting. Thanks.

Is the hard drive actually working?
If yes, you don't have a problem.
If no, take it to a repair shop. Laptops are a bear to work on even for trained technicians, do not open one up if you're new at this.
