HTML File & file type not yet supported

Does anyone know what this type of file is? I tried to open attachments in a few e-mails. I was then prompted to save, which I saved to desktop. Then, when I tried to open the files, I got an error message stating something like "...file type is not yet supported." This type of file was an HTML file and I can't find any information about what it is.

html is hyper text language that most webpages are written in. Your settings in your email program may not be set to allow you to view html in email for security reasons. You can change this easily thru settings. I don't know what program you use so won't give further instructions.
For now if you have the thing on your computer scan it for viruses then: at the same time right click the file and press the shift key
choose 'open with', a box will open now find your internet browser and choose it and hit OK. Now it will open.
