Win98se 20GHD 320mbram IE6 OLE6 Athlon600 DX8 Voodoo3 3k. If i start OutlookExpress using 16bit color i get the page fault message. 8bit,24bitor 32bit color,it is no problem.
Only 16 bit & only OLE. I've repaired IE, used the file checker & fixed one file. Nothing has helped. MS KnowlegeBase suggests it is a video driver problem. I've tried 3 WHQL cert.drivers, several Betas & several 3rd party:
no change.

If you are sure that you have no driver conflicts then you might try the following because it it is a viideo rendering problem:
1. Right-click the My Computer icon on the Desktop, and then click Properties.
2. Click the Performance tab.
3. Click Graphics under Advanced Settings.
4. Slide the Hardware Acceleration bar to the left one notch.
5. Click OK, and then restart the computer when prompted
6.repeat if necessary

I've tried every notch on the acceleration bar.
I've tried messing with the virtual memory too.
I've run adaware, followed by: registry repair,
discleanup,scandisc,defrag & registry defrag.

Thanks for trying. I will keep plugging away until i find a solution. I may end up getting a new vid card just to see if that is the issue. I have startd looking but i really like the easy way my Voodoo3 lets me save a number of desktop Gamma/Contrast/Brightness "schemes"
to call up & use with different programs/tasks that require different settings(Gaming Vs Digital photo work Vs Wordprocessing). ATI says thay have no such feature. Haven't got an answer from any other manufact. yet.
