have windows xp installed and when i start up my machine or rerstart diskscheck starts but freezes and doesnt do anything, if i skip it pc boots up normal and then tells me i have a corrupt tsk manager file , it isnt a virus thought. i try running chkdsk from the run command and it finds

try starting in safe mode, click start/run and type CHKDSK /F then hit enter.
still no good? type it at dos prompt.
Is XP the only operating system on the computer?
I wonder because you use the tern chkdsk and is an OS2 term.

and delete the temp int files(not folders).

thanks for the help, windows xo is only operating system on pc. i can get it to fix the problems by running chkdsk /f and then it restarts and checks my hard drive (c) and then as soon as it is starting up and as finished that check it starts to do another check, the same one but doesnt start it just freezes,
i know this sounds stupid but i cant find the temp internet files???

open windows explorer, scrol down to windows folder and expand it. You will see cookies you can delete all of these but will have to remeber all your website passwords if any, further down there is a folder called Temperary internet files expand this and there are several content files delete everything in these files.
The above deletions are safe you will be promped re files like index.dat which you can't (shouldn't) delete and in the temp int files there should be search 1 &2 and another that shouldn't be deleted it will prompt you not to.
Now bear in mind that I think there is something strange and causing problems originating in you temp int files so if it's atrojan or something it's going to say it's a system file but there is no system files in the temp int files.
If you have Kazaa on your system there is probably nothing anyone can do to help you with this, you'll have to reformat.
