I had this problem several months ago, and then it sort of solved itself, I guess, or I don't remember how I fixed it. My daughter was using MSN Messenger earlier this evening on my computer, and she had no problems. We have both of our computers connected through a router, and we have been able to run both on Messsenger at the same time before. I have Win95 and she has WinXP. I just tried to sign in to Messneger, and it will not respond. I have to use "ctrl+alt+del" and "end task" to get out of it. I checked the MSN site for the .NETstatus, and it said that there are no problems at this time.

XP is a very crappy, but stable. 95 is crappier, and less stable. There are two versions of Microsoft Messenger as far as I know... One for XP users, and the other for non-xp users... if your msn is the XP version, it will not be compatible with windows 95... you will have to visit microsofts website, and make sure to download the windows 95/98/me version... uninstall it from your computer and then reinstall the new version... if you have the 95/98/me version, there could possibly be a error in the files of your msn, and the downloading and reinstalling of it should fix any of those problems...

I have the messenger for Win95, and she has the one for WinXP. The thing is, they were both working fine earlier in the evening, and hers is working fine now, actually. What I did was, uninstall Messenger, then install it again. It's working fine. Thanks for the tip.
I know 95 is unstable, but it is an old computer, and not worth the upgrades. My daughter's is brand new. It came with XP.
