computer restarts itself when somebodys calls

here's the situation:
- i'll boot up my computer
- i log onto the internet via dial up modem
- surfing internet
- i'm done, log off, modem connection closed
- computer may be sitting at idle or i may be working on something else
- if somebody calls my house, the computer freezes, and after about a few minutes restarts itself
does anybody know what my problem is and how i would go about fixing it?

That is quite a weird problem, which ive never heard of before... my suggestion would be to uninstall the modem drivers and reinstall them, making sure that you have the most updated versions of them... u can use cnet to download a program from them called catchup, which will update all of your software... if that dont work, contact the modem maker with your problem...
