no sound on aol

When i sign onto aol with 8.0 I lose all sound.My cd plays but no sound,I don't hear any aol sounds.When I sign off and re start pc I have all sounds back.I have uninstalled 8.0 and re installed,installed lower versions but nothing changes I still lose all sounds once I connect to aol.HELP!! p.s. aol tech support is no help at all Thanks!

try this first cuz I don't use aol
1) connect and let aol open then minimize it
2) open internet explorer and surf are the sounds functional?
3)if not check sound properties in control panel to make sure sounds are associated with surfing events.Close aol
4) run disc clean,scan disc and defragment. empty history cookies and temp int files.
5) still nothing thru aol then there must be a setting within aol,options or preferences that you need to find and change.
