When I try to open my Visioneer 6100 scanner I get a dialog box warning of an illegal operation and the program is shut down. The text reads, in part, "PAPRPORT caused an invalid page fault in module RPCRT4.DLL at 015f:70142424b0." I have Windows 98. I have rebooted, have restored Windows Registry to an earlier date when the program worked fine, and reinstalled the scanner software/driver. The problem persists. Any suggestions?

Try this first, go to Start>Run, and type:
regsvr32.exe ole32.dll
regsvr32.exe oleaut32.dll
regsvr32.exe rpcrt4.dll
Shutdown and restart.
If this doesn't work post back there's more

I got a fix. One of you up the list said to replace olepro32.dll and oleaut32.dll and ole32.dll. I did that and corrected my problem.
Ybrowser caused invalid page fault and would shut down IE. windows opened in an e-mail would freeze. all fixed. If you have this problem try this. It worked for me.

I was also getting the invalid page fault in RPCRT4.DLL while trying to do the Windows Update. I replaced the oleaut32.dll, ole32.dll & olepro32.dll files and it fixed the problem. FYI: for those who aren't sure how to extract new copies of the files - http://users.westelcom.com/rogersr/sfc.htm
