Able to share directories but not CDROM drive

I'm able to share directories in our W2K network (we don't use DFS). However when I've attempted to share CDROM drives or DVDROM drives, I am not able to access those shares. I can share them and in Windows Explorer they appear to be shared. But when I try to access it from someplace in the network it says access denied. I set permissions to Full Control to the Everyone group, but it still yields access denied. What's the deal here? Is there some weird network setting I need to change?

This is caused by INTERACTIVE Groups

A solution would probably be to set the following in the registry of the machine sharing the CDROM

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Value: AllocateCDRoms = 0

logoff - Logon that machine, should sort you out
