I am using XP Pro and kept getting the same message. Here is a fix I found that sometimes works. Go to Control Panel and then select Network and Internet Connections. Click on the Network connections. Look for Local Area Network Connection. Do you have a sound card that has the 1394 firewire port or do you have a 1394 firewire port? If so, you will see the 1394 port listed in here too. Right click on Local Area Network Connection and then select properties. Double click on TCP/IP; select advanced; Click the WINS tab. Select Enable NetBios on TCP/IP Click OK a few times until the windpw closes. If you have a 1394 firewire port, do the same thing you did on the Local Area Network Connection above. You may still see the error in the error log. Don't worry. The error log keeps a track of all your errors, even after you solve them. Only do this next step if you want to clear the error log. To clear the error log, go to RUN; type in eventvwr; you will see three things: application, security and system. Right click on application; clear all events; it will ask you if you want to save them, I would say no. Then scroll down to system and do the same thing. This should do the trick. Now, you still get the NetBT error, do what I did tonight. I have the Audigy Platinum 2 Soundblaster card and it has the 1394 firewire port. I uninstalled the card and did a clean format. I re-insatlled XP Pro and then after setting it up, I installed my Nic drivers for the on board LAN card. I checked the erro log, and no NetBT error. Then I installed the sound card, booted up and installed the sound card drivers. NO NetBT error. I hope this helps you out. Please post here and keep us posted! Good luck! Veets
