Video Card Problems

Okay guys, I was trying to install a new video card (Geforce2 MX 400 64mb) to replace my old one (Intel740 AGP). I'm running a PII 450 with 128 Ram (I'm not sure of the motherboard, etc, since my friend's friend had built the system and not sure of what parts he used).

The problem is that once I've installed the Geforce and installed their drivers, whenever I try to load up my OS (in this case, Windows 98), my system just pauses, the screen flickers, and the system reboots itself, back to square one, and does a long memory test, and loads normally until I reach the Windows 98 load in screen, where it reboots itself again. This happens continuously and once in awhile I can load into my desktop and everything appears normal.

My Intel740 worked fine though when I switched back the cards, and someone said that I might have to disable the Intel in my BIOS. Unfortunately I'm a newbie at this so I'm not quite sure how to do that. Anyone have any suggestions?

The problem is I don't know how to detect if my BIOs has the right video card enabled, and would need a big ol' hand-holding to actually get through it. :\

There are now additional problems too. Someone had tried to install PV40_9x Intel740 drivers onto my computer the other day, but I re-installed my old Intel740 AGP drivers over it. There is now a similiar error in my loadup with the Intel740 (yes folks, that makes two video cards that are giving me headaches :P), however, the system doesn't reboot itself until it is nearly at the desktop, where the screen will flicker, and then the system will reboot itself again.

If I could get the GeForce2 card working though, I think I wouldn't have to try to solve the Intel740 problem though, right? These video cards are such headaches... :-\

Ack, guess my problem's getting too complex (by the minute) :P

I downloaded a game a friend burnt for me and when I try to start it I get the error, GLW cannot load openGL subsystem!

ur vid card does not support opengl. The only solution i know of is getting a more up-to-date video card. A new driver MAY fix it, but I don't think it will.
