This message is to the people coming to this fine site for help. There are 4 helpers on this site, these are the ones that take care of all your requests to look at logs and the such. If you have a problem, by all means please post your problem, do not I say again do not piggyback on someone else's thread the chances are you will not recieve any help because the thread gets so long and they can't chase one log for huge periods of time.

Many requests come to these techs, they are under mannned and outgunned by all the new stuff showing up daily, being in the form of spyware, scumware, viruses and the like. Please be patient they are extremely busy, you may get a reply in 10 minutes it may take up to 2 to 3 days, it all depends on what the problem is and how quickly a fix is available for it. Some of the fixes are complicated and they must commit to a fix before moving on. I am not a tech but just a guy that came here looking for a fix of my own. They managed to help me and after reading some other posts and trying new things out my machine runs leaner and faster than it has in years. So i guess what I'm saying is be patient and post in your own threads, it will help these guys to know end and get the help that you require.

That is accurate info John. There are four of us, three that do malware removal (spyware, viruses, etc...). We are very lucky to have a regular helper that does OS, network, hardware, software, everything "computing" when he has time. Please understand that we do this as volunteers, and that we stop by when time allows... Less than a year ago, malware was basically a non issue ; these days, it's epidemic !! We can't get to every visitor quickly, but we try our best. This summer has been difficult, as all regulars have had busy schedules away from home. Thanks to kind souls like John for helping out, we really needed it ! and still do. Your patience is appreciated.

mark, I saw your comment about SP2 on t.newbie.. are you ok now or you want me to speak to microsoft contact for you? see if they have any more updates on that conflict issue?

All is well Mike, thanks for asking ! Like I said, the only sad thing is the changed XP Pro splash screen... At first, I thought uncle Bill had transformed my Pro into a Home version !! But no, all Pro goodies seem to be on there !
