I have a Gateway E-6000 series that was shipped with C-RIMM. There are 2 banks of 2 slots available on the motherboard. Documentation states that max amt of RAM to be installed is 2048MB, but Gateway has no certified memory upgrade available. What kind of memory should I be looking for. Can the types of memory be mixed or do I have to replace the original as well?
