a friend of mine has a gateway computer with these specs:

when he tried to install winxp on a newly formatted hard drive, the install stop running with 34mins left to go. i saw something about this at MSKB it said something about the usb ports so he disabled usb in the bios and tried again with same results. he removed all add on cards from mobo, still no go. any ideas?
