New.net/Network problems..please help

Okay, so yesterday I decided to run ad-aware...just to make sure my computer was all cleaned out of crap and whatnot. Upon completion it found what it needed to find and then told me to re-start. After re-starting I started getting error messages regarding RunDLL and new.net. I've searched these (and many other forums, but still can't find any answers to my problems). I made sure new.net was completely gone and ran ad-aware about 5 more times...and it picked up on a couple more registrykeys and files...but nothing big. I then checked my network connection and for some reason in the activity box there is nothing being "received"...but information being sent. When I try disabling/enabling, it sometimes says "local area network cable unplugged", however I cannot find anything of the sort and have checked every cable at least 10 times. And this had all been working fine before new.net was uncovered. My IE doesn't work as well as AIM...and any connection for that matter. Is this a new.net DLL problem or would it be a network problem (because the network was fine as of yesterday)? Any help is greatly appreciated.
