I can se that everyone here is very busy helping us newbies sort out the mess we got into. However, I just wanted to ask if Kerio firewall is OK to use. I had some experience with older versions but I don't know how effective it really is when you're exposed to these trojans, dialers and other nasty stuff that seem to be multiplying recently on the web.
What amazes me most in this situation is that there are people on the web doing nothing useful but looking a way to make damage to persons they don't even know. I've been browsing the web for almost 10 years now and it never looked this bad. Internet is a beautiful thing...enables us to communicate and share info and knowledge .... and then you are exposed to these frustrated maniacs destroying everything nice. Excuse my lamenting but I just can't help being disappointed with us humans, sometimes.

Hi Tom,
yeah it's a nightmare out there now.
The best single thing to prevent all of these hijackings, spyware is simple, Do not use Internet explorer. There are far too many unpatched security holes in IE.

Use Mozilla or Opera or the one most of us here use Firefox.

I haven't used IE for quite a long time. now.
Firefox is stable , works well and is far safer.

Kerio is a good firewall, I've noticed many people prefer the older versions though. In particular version 2.1.5
This link is a dedicated Kerio-Tiny forum which has links to download the older as well as newer versions of Kerio, as well rule sets etc.
