HELP!!! I want to know how to free up space on my puter. I only have a 133 with limited space. I seem to have a whole lot of files in my documents that I can't access to find out what they are. They have the windows logo on them. I here some programs create alot of useless files that don't need to be there. Can any one help me distinguish which files are junk ??? When I try to open them, a program comes up and asks me what I want to open them with, but I can't find the right program???
Thanx from CONFUSED AS HELL !?!?!?!.. Oldboots

The files with the Windows icon are simply unassociated file, many may be junk, but some are very important to thr running of your machine. Leave them alone unless you KNOW they are junk.

Work out which programmes you use the least and just install them when you need them.
If yoou play games and save the game a lot, make sure you go back and delete the old save games, as they take up space too.
Uninstall windows components you don't use frequently, netmeeting, comic chat etc.
Bet advice, get a new hard drive, you can get a small hard drive (bigger than yours) second hand pretty cheap these days, they are not terribly difficult to install (usually)
Good Luck

This may clear up some space on your computer.
Open my computer,
open c drive,
open windows,
click on (and open) show files,
click on Cleanmgr.exe
It will ask you to select which drive you want to clean - Click on c drive then click ok. Disk clean up from c drive will open. Highlight what area you want to free space on - It should give you a discription of what is in the file that you want to clean (eg. temp. internet files). But highlight the one you want then click ok. It will ask you are you sure - if you are then click ok. This should clean up some unnecessary files. It will tell you how much space it is clearing up for you. Hope this helps some.

open start menu; Find; Files or Folders...
Then in 'Named' Type *.Tmp
In 'Look In' select 'My Computer'
These are Temporary Files and therefore can safely be deleted.
An 80Gb Hard Drive these days are only about £80-£100, where only a few years ago 40GB was about £180.

Additionally CD-Writers are available at about £40 where CD's are less than 50P each.
