whenever i try to play my cd player i get a message saying Program Not Found. Windows Cannot find mmjblaunch.exe. i think this is a file from musicmatch jukebox, but i don't know why the file is still in my computer because i have uninstalled the program. Can someone help me get my both my cd drives to work when i install my cds, because i used to install the my cds and they would play automatically. by to way, i am running windows 98SE. Please help! Thank you

You can get rid of the file by using Find Files to locate it in your computer because it's not shared, and hadn't been deleted when you uninstalled the program. Hope that helps.

If the suggested fix doesn't work and your PC still tries to play audio CD's using mmjblaunch.exe then the following should definitely work:-
Click on the start button
Goto Settings and Folder Options
Goto File Types and find Audio CD in the list, highlight it and click the Edit button
On the next screen click the Edit button again then browse to find the program that you want to use as a default to play your audio CD's
When you come out of the screens you should see that all audio cd's are set to play using your required program
Try it...

open windows explorer, locate MusicMatch folder in Program Files, and delete. Then follow Stef's advice above.
This worked for me but maybe someone can advise on the wisdom of just deleting the MusicMatch files

one more thing to add to possible fixes:
If you have a desktop shortcut set up for one or more fof your cd/dvd drives, you will need to go in thru it's properties and clean out that remaining reference to mmjblaunch and replace it with a target directory to media player or other app of your choice...

when you've used music match all sound format was selected. so sound format on wmp was unselected.you've just to selecte it again on wmp (tools/option/type of file) then select audio and apply.

exactly... de mmjblaunch.exe is a file of music match.. the solution is simple... configure winamp to play audio CDs.
Enter in winamp's options... in system/media click where say "play audio CDs with winamp"
is all.

I have downloaded a few songs,but when i go to play them it comes up cannot locate mmjblaunch.I have searched files and folders for it but cannot locate it.How do i get any downloads to play using the windows media player if all songs are wanting to play through mmjblaunch? Hey thanks for all your input on this page I didn't even have to post anything! Everyone else asked my questions about mmjblaunch.exe...now I fixed it and it plays GREAT!! I thought I had ruined my Mp3's and other audios...that MusicMAtch is a wicked thing...sneaky too..I have WinX and hopefully it will now work that MM is GONE!

Hello. I have a poblem. Every time I download music and tryand listen to it. I have a screen that pops up and says Program Not Found. Windows Cannot Find mmjblaunch. HOw can I fin mmjblaunch. Is it still in my coputer or do I have to get it from somewhere else. And if so, can I get it from the internet for free?

Simple couple of things to try.
I hope that most of you will have downloaded a new player by now, if not, please visit download.com or your favorite download site. There are thousands of mp3 players for free. Try winamp or sonique.
Once installed, find an mp3 or other such file, and hold down the shift key. Then right click on the file, and a list should pop down, and one option should say open with... youll want to click on this... read the list, and find your new music player on this list... if it is not on there, click other on the bottom right of the box, go to program files, the folder where your new player is, and the .exe file that executes the new player. hit open... then, the checkbox at the bottom should say something like "always open this type with this program..." check the box and hit ok... this should solve the problem...
for the musicmatch jukebox, or mmjblaunch file, which is, musicmatch jukebox, go to program files and delete the musicmatch jukebox folder... if that is done and does not fix it, return to the musicmatch.com site, redownload the file, install it, and then remove it by using the control panel add/remove programs, and then remove the folder from program files...

My daughter downloaded some nasty free anti-spyware program which corruped a lot of files. These files have been fixed and all is well except for the fact that all her mp3 files (downloaded via WinMix) now have a diffent icon (wave file, even though they have an .mp3 suffix) and Windows Media Player says "Cannot play back this file. The format is not supported." Can someone tell me how to "fix" her files or the Media Player so that it can recognize and play these files. Thanks in advance
