My computer does not come on. It is a Gateway Solo 2500. I turn on the power and the green light comes on, a few clicks are heard, and that is as far as it goes. Nothing on screen. A friend of mine told me hers did that and she just hit the reset button. I have searched and searched but no reset button has been found. Please help.

well, well, first you see nothing on the screen? and you don't hear such peeps?? and how many seconds till it turns off itself? or doen't it run off?
as to the reset button.. i don't know you computer but first thing try pressing ctrl+alt+del... and maybe your Tower is one of the few very special no reset button that you can see systems... i saw some of them. quite strange... in this case you'd have to take away the front side plastic... on the matel beyond you'll see the poer button and maybe a little bit under it a small button, which has no hole in the plastic fitting to it so that it can't be pressed if you have the front side on the tower... if this is the case start your PC and try pressinf the new discovered Reset Button..
But i tell you htis is not quite normal so tell us more about the problem and we'll tell you what to do.. (in any case if it's a new machine you have warranty support)

Hi- I am having exactly the same problem, and I was wondering if you had ever found the answer (or if anyone else could help?) The laptop is plugged in and the battery is full. When I press the power button, the green light will come on, and the computer will make a couple of "disk reading" type noises, but that is it. Black screen. Any help would be much appreciated!
