Help! I have a trojan virus

My computer has had a message come up saying there is a trojan virus in a _restore file. I don't know what to do and AVG doesn't pick it up. Also, my sims game keeps shutting down and the computer going back to desktop in the middle of play or loading! Is this linked to the virus. PLEASE HELP ME!! I AM A COMPLETE NEWBIE!!

An antivirus can only scan your restore folder. It is unable to clean files there. This app;ies to all of them not just AVG.
If it is only in system restore, you first disable system restore, then scan with antivirus, then go back and re-enable system restore. Remember to re-enable.
Note that you will lose your old restore points, new ones will be created.

Trojans also differ in removal from viruses.
While an antivirus may protect you, once infected it may be difficult to remove.
