Hi
my dial up internet connection keeps on disconecting, anyone any ideas why?
running win ME, IE 6 and a conexant HCF V.92 56k speakerphone PCI modem with cable internet.

could be you have to many phone device on your phoneline, could be an irq problem... could be lots of problems, does it happen when you start up a webcam or another program?

We have a separate line for the internet so there are no other phones on the line. Dont use we cam or any else like that. Happens alot when we fist connect. Can disconect 4 or 5 times in the first half an hour and then settles down. Very strange in my opinion, any ideas?

i can't remember now but there is a modem initialization string that may help. go onto google, and look up "modem intitialization string" and that may help you. Make sure you have the latest drivers. and if you can learn to control your modem speed knock it down one notch
