Emma you can't delete files that are in use. That's normal.
You gotta stop the running process first, in order to delete them. If it's part of an application you should not be deleting files anyways but using add remove. or you may compound your problem.
If your computer was running "odd" you want to find out why. Note that an antivirus will not detect every piece of rubbish e.g. spyware that
can cause problems.
First check to see whats running. Use control alt del to check. See if there's something odd.
A new program, something you don't know about.
Pac's portal lists start up apps:
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm
also a scan for spyware wouldn't hurt.
Spybot S&D:
http://www.safer-networking.org/
Remember to manually update it before running.
