I recently lost the 'Add/Delete software' utility on my Control Panel. It was there one day, and gone the next!
On some programmes where I have a shortcut on Desktop, when I remove the icon, I am advised that this will not remove the programme, and to go to Add/Remove'. When I click on the link, nothing happens.
can anyone advise where the Add/Remove icon might be found?
Many thanks.

you should say what operating system you have.
But add remove is found in the control panel and you should be able to find it thru the start menu in settings/contol panel or as a shortcut 'control panel'depending on whether you have xp or other

Many thanks, Ed. I have Xp Home Edition.
My problem is that the add/remove is actually missing from Control panel...it used to be there, and when I came to use it again, it was gone!
I have no problem opening Control Panel.
Any ideas as to how to recover it would be very gratefully received.

never heard of this one sounds impossible as there isnt any way to delete it. If you remember when it was there last you can simply go back to a system restore point prior to losing it.
Or you can try double clicking my computer and right clicking C drive selecting tools and running check disc with both boxes checked, you'll have to restart when prompted.
