Remind "virus"

I have a ?? that is a notepad document called "remind". It is 666kb and was created on September 11th. It used to open all the time and immitate a standard "this page cannot be displayed" error message. At the same time I, with the help of this virus apparently started sending emails via hotmail that had words altered in them with some embarrassing results. Norton does not recognize this as a virus and it cannot be removed.
