My Gateway solo 9300 screen has no light

I have a problem with my solo 9300 the LCD display has no light at all you can see disktop but very dark so please help me to solve this problem.

is this problem only when you are using the battery?? if this is the case do the following.
Turn on your notebook.
As soon as it starts and you see a startup screen, press F2. The BIOS Setup utility opens.
Open the Power menu, then highlight DC Mode Power Savings and press Enter. The DC Mode Power Savings screen opens.
Select Customized by pressing the spacebar, then highlight the Backlight field and select Full by pressing the spacebar.
Press Esc.
Open the Exit menu, then select Exit Saving Changes.

Dear Mikeyb,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post, This problem is in both ways Battry and charger and i can't get in to BIOS Setup utility because i don't see any thing on the screen,
the only way i can use this computer is by connecting it to an extrnal monitor, and i even can't get in to setup utility by using the extrnal screen cant see any thing on the screen until windows starts with (extrnal screen)--- (with LCD screen you can see nothing befor and after windows starts)..

Hi I have the same problem wih mind it just happen 3 day ago now I can't see anything. But if you look very closly you can see the desk top it if the light has gone out on my laptop
