media problem

a week or so ago i had a problem with my puter win xp home, i reinstalled windows, now when i try to play music (mp3) either with wmp or winamp, it speeds up and slows down, skips and all. i beleave this is a resource problem as if i play them without being connected to the net or not having other programs running, they play fine, any ideas out there?

yes sounds like a resourse problem alright. Eliminate as many running programs that are not in use for example any programs next to the clock you should not have stating with windows. Buy more ram.

FYI i downloaded updated drivers for my soundcard and appears to be fixed, although i dont get the sound quality as i had before, but perhaps i can grab some winamp plugins to help this
