system is slower than usual

My system is slow. I used to get error messages but throught this site, I was able to get rid of them. Now I have a problem with speed, slow loading, etc... I downloaded pc doctor and it stated that I have 149 problems that could be fixed for a fee and most of them were in the activex. Is there another program that would do the same for free? I have AVG and spybot already. My computer was fast 60 days ago.

Maybe time for some housecleaning.
If you're using IE go into Tools,Internet options and start deleting temporary internet files, history. if it's better then consider increasing your cache size.
Also many programs installed via activex can be found here:
Tools/internet options/temporary internet files/settings/view objects
Take a look and see what you have.
Also you may have too many prorams at startup.
