Registry prob - win me
Jeff

Ok,
I blew this one, recently I installed a new program, REG PROT, which alerts you to process's attempting to write the registry, it's a good program, but when it installs it goes over your already running auto process's, I wasn't thinking when I deleted this and that, and now it doesn't boot, surprise,

It only goes to C:\ , where I attempted the scanreg /restore , which didn't come up with any dates, so no luck, I'm checking with the company to see if there is a backup registry file created by the program, can't find one,

Could you share some of your ideas, and commands to try for this, the boot disc doesn't work either, and neither does the system restore cd, a total freakout,

well at least i can work at the dos prompt, just give me a list of things and I'll go blast away till windows come back

super thanks,
Jeff

use a boot floppy...and if you do not have one...use your WinMe CD it should have a boot option..

1- retrore MBR first..

a:>fDisk / mbr will restore it..

then...use the scanreg /fix option to fix the corrupt regitry..

By the way..

Windows/Option folder should have a backup in case you need to re-install
