C:\CDPRO\VIDE-CDD.SYS isn't a Windows essential DLL. It should boot to see the taskbar regardless. You got a whole different problem there I don't know about RUSS. Backup config.sys in DOS to a floppy and remove that line. I doubt it will help.

For those who CAN manage to get into Windows desktop after seeing the error. Right click "My Computer" and look at the Devices tab and check if you see any ! icons. Means an error for your CD device I'm assuming. Double click the device with the ! icon and click on Driver tab. Click Update driver and have your original system CD handy. If not you may have to hunt down the driver in your Windows directory when reinstalling whatever driver has messed up.

the vide_cdd.sys that is missing is a reference to a cd-rom driver that has been moved or deleted. In Windows, that file is not needed.
Windows uses its own cd rom driver. The only time
that driver would be needed if you were to start
in DOS mode. simply delete that line in your config.sys file and save it. Reboot and problem solved.
