have unwanted dll file 004RunDll32.exe when trying to delete says used by Win.have disabled in msconfig but restarts on start.not sure which program it came with

try downloading pc doctor http://www.pcdocrx.net/cgi-bin/view.cgi/69928qma/download.html
and run it.

There is no 004rundll32.exe
If you mean rundll32.exe then it is a legit and nessesary file installed by windows.
Why its in your start up in msconfig I dont know but undo whatever you did in msconfig.
If your running win 98 go to run and type sfc then click open. This is system file checker and it will prompt you for the disc or some other action when it finds missing/changed or currupted files.
I'm assuming you are getting error messages you should post them. Rundll32 may be mentioned in start up in a string starting up a process,service/program/periferal etc.

ED full title oo4 RunDll32.exe C:\WI HKLM\Software i have unins. all software since it appeared but one of them has left this behind and need to get rid of it.
