Setting MS Photoeditor as the default to open Jpg

Despite associating jpg files with Microsoft Photo editor (Settings>Folder options>File type; Select JPEG image, edit, edit 'open'), when I click on a jpg file, MS photo editor opens, but not the file. I have to manually open the file thro file>open. Is there a way out??

You might try highlighting one of your jpg, then holding down the shift key, right click on the jpg, and choose open with from the menu that comes up. Another box will come up with list of things to open with, scroll down the list until you find the program you want to open your jpg. Once you do, select it, and put a checkmark in the bottom, to always open with this program. See if that will help. Donna
