While we are in SBCYahoo was get an error message: Ybrowser has caused an error in ybrowser.exe. Ybrowser is now closing..

then we get booted out of yahoo. Now there are website we can't use in sbcyahoo search engine but can use when we enter through AOL.

We think we have downloaded all fixes for windows ME from the microsoft site.

Any clues where to go from here?

Thanks

"Can't find Ybrowser.exe" error message
Problem:
After uninstall SBC Yahoo software, I can't open any file with htm extension ...
Solution:
Look like after install SBC Yahoo software, the software changes the htm file association ( the application used to open the htm file). It is opened originally by IExplore.exe. However it was changed to Ybrowser.exe after you had installed SBC software. In short, try to go to Tools->Folder Options->File Type ... ... to change the "OPEN option" of HTM file association. The IExplore.exe is located at c:\program files\Internet Explorer\...

I had the same Ybrowser.exe not found everytime i tried to open various download files and new software files. I had deleted (not properly uninstalled) the yahoo/sbc dsl installation files. I have not found anything on this problem on my compaq website nor Microsoft--the solution offered above by Dan Nguyen worked for me! Thanks, cause now I can use my new digital camera--wish I'd have checked months ago! thanks !! tina

Apparently there is a problem with the software for SBC DSL both the CD and the internet download. I've tried both uninstalling and reinstalling at least 12 times or more. The SBC techs are no help. The funny thing is that my first pc the main one downloaded the software from the CD with the browser icon loaded on the desktop with no problem. My secon pc has ME operating system and for whatever reason the icon for the browser does not load. I'm only able to surf the net through internet explorer. This would be ok except I'm using SBC DSL to take advantage of the parental controls with surfing the net on the second pc. Accessing the web through IE does not use the parental controls set up for SBC DSL on my first pc. I've called SBC tech help 15 times since my first DSL installation on 12/28/03. Can anyone please tell me how to access the ybrowser.exe file and download as a shortcut to my desktop so that internet access will be accessed from SBC Yahoo homepage?

I definately believe that removing SBC Yahoo takes ybrowser.exe with it. I just removed it last week and now my Casio digital camera won't download the pics because this is missing. I'm on Netzero now, anyone have a suggestion on who to call or can I just pick a new application to open it with? I don't know a lot about computers.

1. matcli shows up on the task bar??

2. I get a Motivedirectory error when trying to access the control panel, the program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. I close this and then I can proceed.

3. what is ctmn(not Responding).

4. When existing SBCYahoo I get the Ybrowser error twice.

5. What is the BBB.exe file. It got infected and I had to delete it. Could not find on Win 98 second edition CD.

6. Using Norton System Works 2003 and tried to click Ignor Selected Problem related to getting a missing file error, DotNetInstaller.exe cannot access mscoree.dll, and could not do this, so problem continues to be reported.

These are just a few things keeping me up.

matcli:

Comes with some instant support packages.
also comes with Hp computers printers, compaq, as well some internet providers "instant support"

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Select HP Instant Support | Change or Remove Programs | OK.

ctmn.exe is part of netnanny's chat monitor.

bbb.exe is nothing good. a viral file only. Good riddance.

dotnetinstaller is a norton issue.
Probably desrves its own thread.
I'm not familiar with Norton but found this:

InstallShield installs DotNetInstaller.exe as part of its engine files, which is a .NET application that is used when a setup is installing .NET assemblies. DotNetInstaller.exe will not work on systems that do not have the .NET Framework, but the file is cached with the InstallShield engine files just in case it is needed in the future when the .NET Framework is installed. WinDoctor recognizes DotNetInstaller.exe as a .NET application that depends on the .NET Framework and reports its findings. WinDoctor's findings are technically correct, but InstallShield always checks for the Framework before trying to use it.

Hopefully that's some answers.

I have to turn it off and back on again, where I get a Microsoft message telling me my computer has experienced a major error, doI want to send a report? Then it is business as usual until it crashes again. This is a daily happening since we installed the new Yahoo software and modem. I called Dell - They were useless :-( HELP!!
