my modem has stopped working and when i went into device manager to look for it i found it in com port 5 instead of com port 1..how did it get there and how do i fix it??

if you have the instalation disc, Go todevice manager and remove the entry for the modem.
Restart and let windows redetect it and install the drivers for it.
