You have a Browser Helper Object (BHO) on your systems. Some can be useful. Many people like to have the google toolbar. Some, like this one, are parasites and need to be removed.
Go to Start then Control Panel then Add\remove and uninstal Huntbar.Look for entries called 'MSIETS', 'Internet 404', 'Tools for Internet Explorer' and 'Search Toolbar'

download spybot search&destroy software from download.com and follow the instructions. It will remove the problem.I used it for the same problem and now I am not getting the rundll error anymore. This is a safe remedy.

When I run Adaware 6.0 It keeps finding 1 registry value, Btiein. I delete it, but it keeps reapearing. I don't have any programs in control panel to delete. Why does it keep reloading itself?

I was getting the same btiein.dll message...It was the most annoying thing ever...It popped up in a dialoge box everytime I hit the mouse. I was slowly slipping into darkness, as this evil DLL file was rentlessly stalking me, until I need several doses of a well known prescription tranquilizer to maintain my last thread of sanity. I must confess that finally, I did what only the foolhearty and most deperate souls do: I searched the horrifying and ghastly rumor mills of the internet, known as "message boards" for a solution. Forgive me for this, but I was a broken man living in a shell of my former self.

1. I uninstalled my Googe Toolbar---Nothing happened. My spirits were dashed.

2. I went into the Add/Remove section of the control panel and found nothing resembling any of the programs described here. I began to think that these sinster internet message boards were involved in a secret plot to destroy my fragile mental health.

3. I tore my hair out for 10 minutes.

4. I tried Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware soft wear... Totally Useless. The cabal of internet conspirators against me were laughing and ridiculing me, as I crack my knuckles and mumbled obsenities under my breath.

5. I downloaded PC Doctor On Call software and it told me I had a problem and to give them $29.99 and they'll fix it. My enenmies were not only ridiculing me but now they were extorting money from me!!!

6. I started screaming and cursing at my monitor which scared the h*ll out of my dog and he ran around the house yowling like I had beaten him with a club. I composed myself and calmed the doggie down.

7.Finally as I was preparing to write a suicide and wishing my my loyal dog a found farewell, I stumbled across this link:

http://www.winpatrol.com

They saved my life!!! They had a download called WinPatrol 6.0 and there's a free version of it further down on their homepage!!! Download the free version, install it and open it and hear the sound of a cute little scotty terrier barking (i'm serious!!). Select the "IE Helpers" menu a there's that dirty, nasty, low down, no-good, spyware file!! Check the "tiein.dll" item under IE Helpers and hit the "Remove" button...Gone, gone, gone ...forever!!!

No more idiotic pop up box..The sun is shining brighter!!! The birds are all singing!!! The children are laughing; and I say to myself, "What a wonderful world!"

Hi,

I have just downloaded Nokia software for my 6310i phone, the modem and PC suite, with difficulty as my laptop would hang on exiting every time, except the last time I installed the modem softwware. When I go into PC suite and close th ewindow I get RUNDLL 32 caused an invlaid page fault in module KERNEL 32.DLL at 018f:bff866df.registers blah blah blah... what does this mean?

I cannot use my mobile cable connection to reach my server, yet when I use a landline I can make th econnection and if I dial the number from my mobile I can hear the signal. This makes me think there is a problem between the mobile and my laptop. Any ideas? How do I fix Rundll 32 so that it no longer causes page faults?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Elaine

Thanks LaPeste, you are great. My sister is having this issue and asked for my help. You are the first to have a solution that wasn't going to cost her anything. She is battling Cancer, so I do what I can to keep additional pc costs down for her. Your great, hope your holidays were awesome.

LaPorte's message sent me in the right direction. Winpatrol is a savior! A friend and I spent well over an hour looking to get rid of this problem. We tried Adaware, Spybot and others with no luck. After installing and running the dog, three clicks and the annoyance was gone!! Thanks again to LaPorte and Scotty!

This is the constant pop up I get...is it familiar to anyone?

(the box says RUNDLL) and in the box is-
Error Loading C:/PROGRAM~1/COMMON~2/ADDRESS~1/CNBABE.dll
The specified module could not be found.
I gave the La Peste fix a try, but it didn't help my situation. It's so horrible! Anyone??

Mark

01/11/04
Hi Jessica. You've been hit by spyware called CommonName. Nasty. WinPatrol say they can take care of it (with their PLUS version, of course...). Before getting out the big guns, you should try the free version again (WinPatrol), and look for the .dll in question, or something about CommonName. Good luck.
Frank

01/11/04
Don't forget to give SpyBot Search & Destroy a try on the CommonName too.

http://www.newbie.org/firstaid/healthcheck.html

has a list of programs to try.

Mark

01/11/04
Kudos Frank. I write so many of these (so do you...) that I sometimes forget to state the obvious, SpyBot should be the first thing to try (or Ad-Aware deep scan). SpyBot is my favorite now, but that's just me... From what I read on CommonName, it may need heavier artillery (nasty variants, probably). Big guns : CW-shredder and Hi Jack This!... same ol' same ol'... Cheers!

Let me tell you, I have been looking for a fix for this for four days now. I, too, was falling into a deep depressive state. WinPatrol fixed this stupid thing in less than two minutes. WinPatrol and LaPeste are MY HEROs.

Okay so I am fixing my friends computer and not only am I having the cursed DLL problem but it will not connect to the internet as well. I am a CS major and it makes no gosh darn sense why this is happening. I am SOL since he cannot get on the internet to get the Winpatrol program but I am optimistic. Basically he is having a problem with instruction "0x77f755e9" and command line "0x020f3d5c". If you are as confused as me well I guess i should just reformat his comp but i dont have an extra 40bit cable so he'd lose everything. now do you see my predicament?

Btiein
I read all the posts from the last two months. People seem to have the similiar problem, but
mine is a little different, as everything I try will not remove the BTIEIN from my registry
key(It is in the HKEY/LOCAL_MACHINE_/SOFTWARE/BTIEIN. It will not let me delete it. I have used maybe free and paid spyware removals, with no luck. To name a few, Win-Patrol, Spynuker, spyhunter, Stop Sign, SpyBOT, Spy sweeper, and many more. NOTHING HELPS. i ALSO TRIED REGISRTY MECHANIC.
I know that this is a HUNTBAR. PLEASE DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO REMOVE IT. i ALSO TRIED TO REMOVE IT by regsvr32 in DOs PROMPT. i'M THINKING MY LAST RESORT WILL BE TO RE-INSTALL windows XP to my computer. Please don't advise
SYSTEM RESTORE. I ALREADY USED it. aND NOW WHEN i TRY TO RESTORE MY COMPUTER TO A EARLIER
DATE, IT DOESN'T heLP because, it will not allow me to restore to before the BTIEIN WAS INSTALLED (ILLEGALLY) ON MY COMPUTER!!!help!!!

01/18/04
Hi Pat. Your post is in the wrong thread, and will get lost in the croud. My advice : go to Newbie home page, click on "Start a new thread", and in the "Re:" field, type something like : "Need help removing Stop-Sign". You have multiple spywares installed on your computer right now, and you'll need a lot of help to get rid of them. The "Stop-Sign" component you downloaded (probably offering a free scan) is taking over your computer, as it installed a trojan, causing multiple problems. It will need to be removed first.

Post a new thread, don't be shy.

Could anyone send me the bsx5.dll file?
Mark

01/18/04
Ok Pat, I made a small mistake : when you want to start a new thread, look for "Create a new thread" on Newbie home page.

Sean, you need to start your own thread as well. Name it something like : "Help, looking for bsx5.dll file, anyone?".

Good luck to both of you.
