If you have a video card with an NVidia chipset, check out this page:

You just have to install older drivers for your video card! Not a driver above version 41.09!

I'm working on a pc that has this same error and doesn't have a Nvidia Graphics card.. It is using a Cirrus Logic Laguna 5465. And the error message says there is a error with the tv out port, yet it doesn't have a tv out.

I have a 5600 ultra my vivo on a 98 se machine running a 2.4 ghz on powerDVD, and reading all your strings on the f4d41436 problems I too have had problems with the tv out.

But there is a simple solution,

I am only South African but have had + - 10 years in IT and all you have to do is uninstall powerDVD and install WinfastDVD, as simple as that

hi , the error code it comes up with is "f4d41436 TheTV Out port of your display card is not working properly." and if you click detailed you get this "This copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled." my graphics card doesnt have a video out !.
my graphics card is a "sis 620"
Pentium 650 60 mb

It doesnt have to be an NVIDIA chipset, but rather a certain TV out chip, such as the Conextant BT868.

Nvidia users will have to use a PRE 41.xx detonator driver. If you use a different card, you'll have to look for a solution with them, an older driver will likely work though.

I use PowerDVD 3X something and have same problem. I downloaded PowerDVD 4X something and tried. It worked. I think it is the version under 4 problem. Unfortunately, there is no support from Cyberlink. Anybody can guess: they want to sell the lattest version. NOW the fortunate thing is this. There is a hidden file/program call DVPLAY.EXE.If you use Windows 2000, this program/file is in C:\winnt\system32. It is not as good as PowerDVD or other commercial versions, but it really works for me. Good luck.

For Windows 98SE with a PCChips "Socket A" M851LU motherboard, go into the BIOS, and in the Features Setup Page, change the Outboard Serial PortA from "Auto" to "3E8/COM3" and also set the Onboard Parallel Port to "378". My Parallel Port Mode is set to EPP as well. This cured it. Good luck, yours might be different, but you know where to start. Not responsible if this doesn't work or wreaks havoc (probably won't, don't worry).
