heres the story ...my pc had some files deleted from either 'c:' or the windows folder (c:windows/) ..the pc got turned off and then i tried to start it up ...it would load then get to the 'windows ME' logo screen like usual but here it wouldnt budge, its loading but not doing a thing, i left this on for over an hour still nothing but reecently i was able to get hold of a 'startup' disk for windows ME ...so i loaded the floppy and format my c drive ("format c: /q/s") it had re-formatted succesfully and i suppose this means nothing is on the c drive what-so-ever ...i then turned the pc off and back on after removing the floppy and this time it came up 'insert disk and press any key' ...basically i want to install a new windows OP (operating system) ...like windows 98 ...is this possible now that i have formated my pc?
...if so do i load the floppy and use the 'start computer with cd-rom support' with the cd being a windows Operating system (windows 98) cd?
