The Netscape browser Java settings are accessed through the Edit submenu. You can access this from Netscape's top menu bar.
Click on the menu option "Edit" and the submenu will drop down. This is called a "drop-down" menu for obvious reasons.
From here look for the "Preferences" option. Highlight this option and click on it with the Left Mouse button.
After pressing on the options button a large Prefences window will be displayed. The white box on the left contains the navigation tree. We will use this to find the Java settings. In the next picture we show a close up of that section.
Find and click on the "Advanced" section of the Preferences tree. This will bring up the security options we're looking for. Notice the check box with the words "Enable Java" next to it. The check box is unchecked. That means that Java applets will not run.
After unclicking the "Enable Java" box click on the "Ok" button on the bottom of the window. That does it. Java is now turned off.
